We are a voluntary organisation and rely on the kindness of people to keep going. And right now, we need more kind people to help us out.

Record request collectors

A huge part of our schedule is the request show every weekday evening. For this, we need people to go out on the wards on an afternoon, talk to patients and find out what they’d like to listen to.
This requires an amiable, outgoing person who is free on a weekday afternoon. Music knowledge is helpful, but not as vital as the ability to talk to people in a friendly, respectful manner.
It also requires a DBS check to be completed.
We are specifically short on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Sports team presenter

On Monday nights, we have our weekly sports round-up in Sportsline. We need people who can talk Town, the Giants, Yorkshire cricket and any other big sporting topic the team wish to broach between 8 and 8:30 on Monday evenings. It doesn’t have to be every week, but a passion for sport – especially the local teams – and ability to articulate that is crucial.
