James R Naz

I moved to Huddersfield in 1982 and the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary is one of the centre points on the horizon of the view from my house.

After travelling the world between 1991 and 1993 I knuckled down at the Huddersfield Technical College and achieved suitable grades in my A-levels to enable me to embark on a degree in Physiology from the University of Leeds. I enjoyed this course but later on had a creative urge and started to think about scenes from potential films. I went therefore for an interview to get onto a Masters course in Film Screen writing and was successfully chosen for this.

I travelled to Finland for three months as part of this course and learnt a great deal about structuring screenplays. Now my dream is to write the script for my first ever film idea but because I want it to beJames R Naz Photo substantial in nature I am going to spend at least six months planning.

I have been fortunate to be able to join the Tuesday evening team at HHR. This comprises John, Phil, Ian and Andrew. I enjoy helping with the request show and really like the members of the team and hearing what the patients would like to listen to which is often very varied.

Before joining HHR I thought that I have a fairly good grasp of music but the members of the team have literally thousands of CDs at home and as you would expect eclectic tastes in music.

I would like to be able to continue helping to present the Tuesday evening show and hopefully one day I will be able to be as confident and natural behind the microphone as the other members. HHR is great fun and the people who collect the requests as well as the patients help it to run smoothly.
